  1. The Embassy of India, Riyadh and Indian Consulate in Jeddah announces that they have entered into a contract with M/s VFS GCC LLC for outsourcing its passport, visa and consular services. The outsourcing of consular services at Riyadh region and Jeddah region has commenced from 1 January 2015.

  2. This is in line with Government of India's policy to reach out to the ever-expanding large Indian community in different parts of the world including the Gulf region, and to provide efficient and transparent services in a comfortable environment to the community with minimum additional financial liability.

Staff members of VFS have no role or influence over the outcome of an application. The decision to grant or refuse a visa is made solely by the officers at the Embassy of India, Riyadh and Indian Consulate Jeddah.

It remains our commitment to ensure the integrity of our process. Any applicant submitting false documentation or other incorrect information in support of his/her application may be referred to the local authorities.

Merger of PIO Scheme with (OCI) Scheme - 2015
SALIENT FEATURES:
(i). All the existing Persons of Indian Origin cardholders registered as such shall be deemed to be Overseas Citizens of India cardholders with effect from 09.01.2015.*
(ii). A person, who is a minor child and whose either or both parents are Citizens/Overseas Citizens of India shall be eligible for registration as OCI under the new scheme.*
(iii). Spouse of foreign origin of a citizen of India/ OCI card holder, whose marriage has been registered and subsisted for a continuous period of not less than two years immediately preceding the presentation of the application, is now eligible to apply for OCI card. Such spouse shall be subjected to prior security clearance from a competent authority in India.*
(iv). A PIO Card which has been issued prior to the announcement of this new OCI Scheme shall be deemed to be valid for life time of its holder.
(v). A PIO Card holder is exempted from the requirement of registration, irrespective of the duration of stay in India.
(vi). A PIO Card holder can seek endorsement of ‘Life Time’ validity and ‘Exemption of Registration’ by presenting the PIO card to Attaché (visa) at Room No. 205 of the Embassy on all working days from Monday to Thursday from 1000 Hrs to 1300 Hrs.
